Opuntia aciculata, commonly known as Chenille Prickly Pear or Old Man's Whiskers, is a species of cactus native to North America, particularly Texas and northern Mexico. It's characterized by flattened, fleshy, grey-green pads covered in large bushy glochids. These cacti produce yellow to orange or red flowers followed by edible, reddish-purple fruits. Not cold hardy for growing outdoors, but great in a container brought in for winter protection.
