Always the first variety to bloom for us, this medium-sized plant forms a dense mound of small pads. Flowers are a vivid, deep magenta, relatively large (7cm) and are produced in large numbers. A good groundcover, also good in a container. We previously listed this as a O. fragilis cv, however, it may more correctly be described as an open pollinated O. aurea hybrid. Whatever the correct nomenclature may be, it remains one of the most outstanding varieties in our garden.
