Considered one of the very best garden varieties. Gold spines densely cover the pads, which are smothered by double flowers (6-7 cm) in June. Flowers open a sort of bubblegum-pink early in the season, and seem to progress throughout the season to a colour that we haven't been able to describe, but can be seen in these photographs. An O. rhodantha hybrid.
