This variety is a blooming powerhouse, making an excellent garden or container plant. One of the earliest varieties to bloom, its medium sized (5 cm) raspberry-red flowers are prolifically produced, and remind us of frilly petticoats. It's hybrid parentage is uncertain, with suggestions including basilaris, aurea, polyacantha and schweriniana. Regardless of its background, it is a great choice.
