This 'beavertail' variety is smothered with large, (8 cm) rich metallic-yellow flowers, with a hint of a green tinge towards the base. Blooming starts early in the season and continues for a longer time than most varieties. Often reblooms in summer. Pads are blue-gray and spineless, and spread to form a very low mat. In winter the pads develop a purplish tinge on their edges.
